Important Milestones

Another Enrollment Milestone Reached. In Spring 2014, the BI&A program has more than 60 students from all over the world enrolled in our MS degree program and an additional 15 students enrolled in our graduate certificate or taking courses on a non-matric basis.

Placement. Our first group of graduates accepted jobs in the following companies: Affinity Solutions, AppCard, Apple, Bank of America, Collaborative Consulting, Genesis Research, Jefferies, Morgan Stanley, Price-Waterhouse Coopers, San Disk, TIAA-CREF and Verizon Wireless.

Database and Business Intelligence Technology. Stevens is a member of the IBM Academic Initiative, a partnership that provides faculty and student access and training on a variety of IBM products.

Hadoop and Big Data Technology. The BI&A program has become a member of Cloudera’s Academic Partnership, which provides faculty and student access and training on Apache Hadoop, one of the essential tools for working with huge sets of data. A Hadoop cluster, initially consisting of 14 nodes, but with the potential to grow to over 100 nodes, has been initiated in the Hanlon Financial Services lab.
