Pleasanton Municipal Airport getting “Real Time Information” system from AeroPATH Systems

LEON ZABAVA | PLEASANTON EXPRESS A new system is being erected at Pleasanton Municipal Airport to obtain a better count of airplanes utilizing the airport. It was developed by AeroPATH Systems and will be in use at the local facility within the next week or so. It’s called ARTI for Airport Real Time Information.
“Some of the reporting that we have to do for the TDS FAA will be facilitated through the information we can gather through this new, innovative system, ” said Pleasanton Mayor Clint Powell.
Powell continued, “Another item I believe to be important is that the system will record what individuals coming into the airport are asking for. Are they asking for restaurants, Jet-A fuel, hotels or motels? This will help us determine what services we can offer at the airport or what people are looking for in Pleasanton or the surrounding area.

DAVID WICKERSHAM | PLEASANTON EXPRESS “Pleasanton is the second city in Texas where this state-of-art equipment is being installed. The other airport where this is installed is in Burnet, Texas. The two individuals who created the system utilize the Burnet location as their home airport. So they installed it there first.
“If a pilot is coming in here, he can check through the traffic pattern so that when landing he’s able to know what the wind is like at that very moment at Pleasanton Municipal Airport. With this system installed, a pilot can just say ARTI winds and he’ll get the winds right now without having to flip the channel over and distract you from flying the airplane. Also, if someone is traversing through the area and they want a restaurant, it’ll give him restaurant information and what we have for ‘rent a car’. At our airport we have a courtesy car.
